My Goal: Learn Spanish At Home

Since I was very young I wanted to learn a foreign language. I studied German in high school, but it just didn't grab me. I wanted to learn Spanish then, and I had some Mexican-American schoolmates I could have practiced with. Unfortunately, I let my parents discourage me from learning Spanish. But that was then... this is now ;) I'm going to learn Spanish!

I love the Spanish language! I always have but the more I know about it them more I love it. It's such a beautiful language to listen too... even if you can't understand it. But the simplicity and consistency of the pronunciation really appeals to me. For English speakers like myself, Spanish is said to be the easiest language to learn. I think that makes it ideal as a first language.

There are so many benefits to learning a second language. I'm especially interested in what the experience will do to my brain, my way of thinking. I've read that learning a foreign language can improve your skills in English and Maths as well as improve your analytical skills - that's the one that really interests me. I know from learning German that it does change the way you think.
